SRC radio license
 

Duration:  2.5 days - Number of participants:  2 - 6 people

The SRC radiotelephony certificate (Short Range Certificate) is essential for the use of a VHF radiotelephone on a pleasure craft at sea and on maritime shipping routes. It is necessary that the skipper has a valid radio license in order to be able to contact other ships at sea or to coastal radio stations in critical situations or to be able to offer help to people in distress. The exam requires, among other things, basic knowledge of English and common phrases in maritime radio. People aged 15 and over are eligible to take this exam.

Course and prüfung information:

  • Online access for preparation incl.

  • Theoretical training based on the original examination forms

  • Practical training with our training radio system

  • Provisional radio license possible on the day of the exam

  • Water and soft drinks included.

ToExamng are required:

  • Passport photo  (possible on site)

  • Identity card (to be brought with you for the exam)

Course content

Theory:

  • Legal framework

  • Basics of the GMDSS

  • Areas of application and devices

  • Technical basics (marine radio)

  • radio texts

Practice:

  • Operation of radio systems

  • Registering radio systems

  • Use of important radio channels 

  • Spelling in the NATO alphabet

Course fee: 490 Euros

Examination fee: approx. 188 euros (payment directly to the examination committee)

Course fee combined course: 690 euros

Exam fee: approx. 296,- Euro (payment directly to the examination board)
